It works as intended only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because it’s too short.

The fact this thing can collapse down to a small form factor is very important to my daughter.

An impractical hybrid of A mobility cane and a stability cane. not good for either
I was excited to find a affordable Kane but very disappointed when I got it. I believe the creator of this cane is a cited person who does not really understand what a mobility cane is and how it is used, it seems to attempt to be a hybrid of a mobility cane and a stability cane but I don’t really think it is practical as either. The tip is the main problem with it. It is a rubber tip, the kind you would find on a stability cane which for reference, a stability cane is used for balance a traditional Walkingstick if you will, however it is not good for this purpose either as the tip is very cheaply made and wears out quickly. A mobility came used by the blind is held completely differently than a stability cane and is used to detect objects, terrain changes, topography (stairs, curbs, dips cracks, hills, bumps) and so on. While this cane might give object detection, the tip does not allow it to give any of the other feedback needed for a blind traveler. I saw this would be the problem immediately upon opening, but I needed a cane so I gave it a try and the tip used in the way it is supposed to for a mobility cane broke after three uses. It is a sturdy cane and the folding function works well the handle is just OK not great but is functional. I do think the handle is designed for a mobility cane and would not work for a stability cane. I do not know if this was meant to be a hybrid or not as there are some blind users that also need stability cans but this is more rare. If that is its purpose it should be advertised as such but to be honest I do not think it would work for a stability cane or a mobility cane for the reasons I previously mentioned. If the tip was changed to something more functional that could slide along the ground or tap as needed this could be a useful cane for the blind though it is a bit heavy and the string needs a loop on the end so that when it is folded it can be held together. The way it is designed now you can fold it but it does not stay folded if you set it down next to you it will just pop open again. If the handle had a curved part on the top it could be used as a stability cane. If it wants to be a stability cane and a mobility cane hybrid I believe a disc tip would be the best option as it could create a stable surface and also function as a mobility cane. A disc tip is not my personal preference but then again I do not need the stability function but it would work if that were its purpose. Also it only seems to come in one Heights which is fine for me as I am only 5 foot, however for a taller person a mobility cane would need to be taller so it should come in multiple height options.
