Well made and sturdy.
Was useful for a small person…didn’t have to adjust everytime we had to put it on.

Too loose around smaller waists for transferring purposes
This transfer belt feels really well made with sturdy handles/grips and soft padding against the body. It clips around the waist easily and stays connected even when being tugged on. I ordered this to help my elderly grandfather get around the house easier with assistance. I always try items on myself before him to ensure they are reliable. The listing title didn’t specify a “size” so I assumed it was one size fits all. After looking again I see that the smallest waist size it accommodates is 35.8 inches. Even though the larger part of my stomach is 37, when someone pulls on the handle bars, the belt naturally lifts up to the smaller part of my waist and then doesn’t do any good for lifting a person since it’s no longer snug around the body. It would have needed another strap to go between the legs to create a harness. I think this would be better on someone who has a larger body circumstance or a body shape that the belt won’t rise up.If you are just using this to keep a person steady while they are walking, it’ll work ok. On a person that this belt fits correctly, it does not feel overly tight or painful against the body as it is being pulled on. Also, if you are on the smaller end of the measurements and have to adjust the belt to the full tightness, you have a long strap hanging down which can get caught on things as you are moving the person from one place to another.Aside from that, this belt has been working great. Just make sure you measure your waist correctly to make sure this will fit snuggly.

Makes it a lot easier to help someone get around
This gait belt works great. It makes it a lot easier to help someone get around, and ought to be standard issue for anyone needing assistance. This unit has the quick-release clamp, so you can get the belt set to just the right length and then not have to bother with it all the time. Also, I really like the handles. They’re made of a stiff, rubbery material that’s easy to hold and doesn’t cut into your hand at all. Also, this belt is a lot more comfortable to wear than the old-fashioned straps. This belt has some padding, plus it’s a lot wider, so it spreads the weight out over a larger area.
