Open feature great for cleaning but creates a ledge on the bottom.
This garlic press is a huge improvement over my old one and has a lot of features that I really like. It has a large opening for garlic. The handle is very comfortable and easy to press. It cuts the garlic into little squares vs just smashing it. It is super easy to clean since you can open it. The tools that come with it, especially the scraper/cleaner, are really useful but a lot to keep together in my storage drawer. The scraper is really quite needed since there is a ledge on the underside (where the garlic comes out – see pics) that keeps you from being able to use a silicon spatula or some other kitchen tool to swipe straight across to knock the minced garlic off. I also think I have a lot more left in my press afterward that isn’t getting pressed out. Overall well made and a good press just needs some design tweaks, would earn all the stars of the bottom were flat.

EzeePress: Garlic Press w/Swing Open Press Chamber, Stainless-Steel, Polymer Handles, Accessories
Wow! A Stainless-Steel Garlic Press. Finally! This Garlic Press is Great!I have had more than a half a dozen garlic presses over the years. There has always been a failure with them of some sort or another. They break. They literally wear out from use. They just do not work. The handles hurt my hands when the press is squeezed. They are impossible to clean. Parts fall off or will not stay in place. And most often, they are just too small for my needs. It has gotten to the point where now I usually just grate the garlic cloves I need with a micro-plane grater. It works well enough but you must be very careful and there is always some garlic wasted to preserve the physical integrity of your fingers. This product is different. First, the handles are large, long, and have thick polymer grips. This feature will definitely help with the operation of the press without hurting the operator. Second, the pressing chamber is quite large and is capable of accepting several individual pieces of garlic to be pressed. Third, the pressing plate has nubs molded into its face which precisely match with the holes in the pressing chamber so that more of the garlic is forced through the holes. Fourth, this garlic press is designed with a unique swing-open press chamber so that the press chamber may be easily cleaned and the “34 Precision Hex Holes” may be cleaned of all residual garlic left-overs from the pressing process. This garlic press is like none other I have ever seen. The garlic press chamber is made in two separate pieces. The main portion of the chamber forms the right side of the chamber and connects the lower handle to the garlic presses’ hinge mechanism. The swing-open portion of the press chamber incorporates the left side of the chamber and the bottom of the chamber. The bottom of the chamber has the “34 Precision Hex Holes” as described by the manufacturer and it fits precisely with the main portion of the chamber on the right side. The swing-open portion of the press chamber is hinged at the front of the chamber and may be moved up and down a small amount on the hinge pin. The purpose of this allowed movement is designed to provide a method to lift the swing-open portion of the press chamber out of positive engagement with the right side of the chamber and allow it to be swung open to the left for cleaning. This unique feature allows the user to thoroughly sanitize the press chamber and to remove all of the pressed garlic residue. This tool is made from a stainless-steel alloy that the manufacturer says is heavy-duty, corrosion resistant, and dish washer safe. My research indicates that this should all be true, but only time will tell. I only wish that the product’s Amazon page specified exactly which stainless-steel formulation was used in the production of this product. There is one problem with the information provided on the product’s Amazon page with regard to the material this garlic press is made from. Specifically, on the graphic entitled, “Use characteristic diagram”, in the “Rust Resistant” box it states, “Zinc Alloy Build”. I can only assume that this statement is absolutely incorrect and probably belongs to a similar product’s description. I purposely ordered this product because it is supposed to be made from stainless-steel. I do appreciate that they have made the individual components of this tool out of quite thick material in an effort to ensure their longevity. I hope this is true and will give it a shot. Also included with this tool is a silicone tube to be used for peeling the garlic cloves. I have seen this used on various cooking shows but have not used it myself. Yet. I can’t wait to give it a try. I understand that it works excellently to remove the dried garlic skins. There is also a cleaning tool provided with the product. It has a spatula end for removing crushed garlic from the press chamber and the other end has three pointy spikes for removing garlic residue from the holes in the bottom of the press chamber. So far, I really like this product and I think that I am going to like it even more when I get back into Italian cooking. Thanks for producing a great product.

If you are a garlic lover- you need this in your kitchen arsenal!!!
If you love garlic, you will love this set!First, the gray tube looking item. Every household that uses fresh garlic shoukd have this. You put a clove of garlic in it, roll it against a hard surface and it breaks up the outer skin and it falls right off. No more struggling with peeling! I have tried so many different ways to do this and this has been the easiest for me.The press! Takes seconds to “mince” garlic cloves. There is some waste. Even if the hard outer layer is taken off, this still only crushes the middle of the clove. I tried putting the uncrushed clove back in but it won’t crush it. I wonder if it spots are too fibrous. This isnt a “juicer.” It crushes the garlic. Finer than minced. I suffer from OCD and one of my “ticks” is that everything has to be the same size/shape so I spend hours when slicing and/or dicing. This crushes so it eases my anxiety for the need for the perfect shape/size.The third component is the “pick.” It gets all the little bits out of the holes. The mechanism that crushes the garlic, the part with the holes is supposed open wider. It worked for a long time but now I can not get it apart. However , as long as it stays together that is a minor inconvenience.

Difficult to clean | Complicated design
This garlic press gets a 4/5 for its ability to crush a clove of garlic fairly easily. The handles are a bit longer and the extra leverage makes it easier to actually press the garlic than the one I had been using previously. It gets a 2/5 for its disassembly and cleaning process. Despite using the tool they sent, I was picking garlic skin out of the foot for quite a while and still didn’t succeed in getting it all.The peeler tube is a nice addition and it did get the skin off but the clove broke into several pieces during the process.
