Very well made.
This is absolutely one heavy duty piece of metal. This is not a cheap piece of plastic. When I saw sturdy I mean sturdy. Very well built.

Freestanding grab bar, use leveler and two people to install
This freestanding grab bar works great for a shower that doesn’t work well with suction cup grab bars and can’t have holes drilled in it. This pole and bar combo is heavy and is best assembled with two people. Make sure to use a leveling tool to check that it’s perfectly straight up and down before tightening it up. This pole should be set up on a ceiling joist if you can locate where one is for added stability and sturdiness. This product has been tested and approved for safety which gives me better peace of mind using it daily. The rotating bar has been very helpful for getting in and out of our taller tub more safely after an injury, and it fits fine in our smaller bathroom too. The bar can be locked down into different positions for added stability and I appreciate being able to rotate it as needed as well. This is not something that people with injuries, limited mobility or elderly people should build and install on their own but they can use it on their own with confidence. This pole could be used anywhere where there are flat ceilings and flat floors, like in a bedroom or kitchen or other room in the house without carpets or angled ceilings. This pole and bar combo is good quality and it feels like it should hold up well in moist environments like near a shower. Make sure it’s perfectly straight before and after you tighten it into place. This item is very versatile so it can be used in different locations but it’s not something that I would plan on moving around once it’s in place if at all possible. This item is heavy and it comes in a huge box even though it needs assembly, keep that in mind when you order it because I don’t think everyone would be able to bring it inside easily. Would perfect for rental properties because it doesn’t require any permanent installation.

STURDY!
This pole is top heavy. No matter how strong you think you are, I strongly suggest not installing it alone. Have a helper hold it in place while it is being tightened. YouTube videos help understand the assembly process but do follow the instructions.

Shaky and difficult to assemble
First off, I was carrying this down my stairs and the plastic handles on the packing came out and the package fell and slid to the bottom of the stairs. At least I didn’t have to carry it! I opened the package and found that were were about a dozen plastic coverings or bushings and a bag of hardware. Admittedly, I am not an expert installer but this was not a great experience for me, I was never quite sure if I was doing it correctly. I get it assembled and then had to do my adjustments at the very bottom of the pole. Ugh. I was up and down on my knees several times until I felt like the pole was level. Finally complete and next to the bed the handle was so shaky that I am not sure it will be useful for my mother who just needed a little extra support and stability. So frustrated.

A great tool to have for those wanting to regain some independence
Putting together the pole itself wasn’t hard, but getting it in place was far from easy. It’s a two person job, so have an extra set of hands ready. This was installed in an older home with ceilings that aren’t perfectly level and that created some added frustration while trying to anchor it in place. The instructions aren’t the best, but adequate. It was missing one of the pieces that locks the rods in place but my handy step-father was able to find a similar piece in his tool shed that worked. My mother needed this for both toilet and shower so we put it in between the two. It’s sturdy and solid when she puts her weight against it. There’s one flaw we found with the swivel bar, though – she’s not able to move it herself. It takes a fair bit of oomph to unlock and rotate the bar. It’s great that it locks in place, but I wish there was an easier way for her to move it where she needs it.I really like the idea behind this, but it’s not ideal for our current situation. Hopefully my mother regains some strength and motor skills as she recovers so she can fully utilize the swivel bar.Would I recommend it to folks who need a good support bar? Yes. No drilling means it can be moved where it’s needed. The swivel bar is great if the person can unlock and move it on their own (or has someone close by to help).

strong and easy to use. Devices like this make it possible to ‘age in place’.
It is simply a God send.
Honestly Speaking –
Easy to set up, no ladder or tools needed. So helpful to use!
I’ve had a knee injury in the past and still need a little help getting up from a seated position. So I got this floor-to-ceiling grab bar to make it easier to stand up without stressing out my weak knee. This pole is all sturdy metal tubing with a 2” wide diameter and is exceptional quality! It is strong and completely secure even when I pull on it hard to lift up my entire body weight. The 14” long U-shaped grab bar can rotate around to 8 different positions and will easily lock into place for stability. This pole was relatively easy to set up and put into place. There’s a round base that sits on the floor and a larger oval top piece that presses up against the ceiling. The pole between them is assembled from a few pieces and is adjustable to fit any ceiling height from 7 feet to 10 feet.No ladder is needed to install this pole and you won’t need to provide your own tools. You just assemble the base, top plate, grab bar, and pole to approximately the right size, and increase the tension with the large adjustment screw at the bottom until the tension holds it sturdily in place. Before we completely tightened the pole, we stepped back and looked at the pole from multiple angles and noticed that it was not exactly straight up and down. I grabbed a broom handle and just nudged the top plate a little bit against the ceiling to get the pole to be perfectly straight. Then I was able to tighten the pole until the top pressed against the ceiling firmly. I don’t know where our ceiling joists are, but if you do, it would probably be best to place this pole where some part of the top plate is under a joist. This floor-to-ceiling grab bar pole is very secure, and I use it every day. It is very well made and quite durable. I believe it is made to last! I’m impressed with its quality, and I would highly recommend this grab bar to anyone needing a little help like I do.

My father is 97 and this has to be the best helper ever! He can easily get into a standing position from his chair and reach for his walker…no more struggles to get himself up. I will most likely purchase another unit for his bedside. Strong and extremely well made.

A total nightmare from start to finish. There were no screws or tools in the package so I asked Healthcraft to send it. They refused and said to deal with Amazon. Amazon was good and said I can return it for a refund. When I told Healthcraft I will let others know about their unwillingness to send the missing screws and tool, they wanted me to blame Amazon. I said it is their fault not Amazon’s fault. Eventually they sent a replacement even though I said to send the missing items, which has been a bad thing since I only have the screws for one pole and no need for a 2nd pole. It is heavy and takes up room so why would I want a 2nd one? I just wanted the missing screws and tool. Now regarding the product, I will say their videos are terrible. If you are lucky you’ll find a good one but they sent me a link to one that didn’t even have the parts I received. It took several attempts for my friend to get it installed due to the lousy videos and you need 2 people to do it. No way is this an easy install or a quick one or a 1 person one. It was hell. I regret the purchase given all I went through and Healthcraft not caring about their customer.

As part of the care team for my beloved parent who’s aging in place at home and dealing with both mobility and memory issues, I’ve been looking for practical ways to make her environment safer, especially at night. The Healthcraft uPole with Pivot Bar is one of the few products I’ve found that actually helps without needing a renovation or permanent changes. If you’re trying to support someone in a similar situation, this is worth looking into.Peace of Mind (Company Background and Certifications)Through basic research on the manufacturing company I discovered the founders of HealthCraft Group launched the company with a focus on fall prevention and keeping people safe so they could age in place and feel secure in their homes. Based in Ottawa, Healthcraft has over 30 years of experience in fall prevention and mobility support.Healthcraft uPole with Pivot Bar has the following important certifications and credentials:✔ Health Canada Medical Device Licence: This confirms the product has been reviewed and found safe and effective for its intended use in Canada.✔ ISO 13485:2016 Certification: Healthcraft is an ISO certified company, which means they follow strict international standards for quality in designing and manufacturing medical devices.✔ FDA Registration: The product is registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, confirming it meets regulatory standards for safety and quality in North America. This history and these certifications add peace of mind. 🌟Key Features and BenefitsThis transfer pole uses a tension-mounted, floor-to-ceiling system which means there is no drilling, no screws, and no damage to walls or ceilings. That is a major plus if you’re renting, sharing decisions with others in the home, or trying to keep things simple without changing things too much – especially when you run into resistance from the main caregiver. The Pivot Bar is what makes it especially useful. It is a 14-inch handle that locks into eight different positions, so you can place it exactly where support is needed — beside a bed, near a chair, or next to a toilet. My parent often gets up in the night to use the bathroom. Even with moderate to severe memory issues, she automatically reaches for her walker, whether it is close by or not, and it is not always stable. This bar gives her something secure to grab right at the bedside and helps cut down the risk of falls. She lives downstairs in a two-story house. While the powder room is too small for a pole, there is enough room in the den, which we made into her bedroom. I would also like to have it by the kitchen table since she spends three meals a day there. Watching her get from walker to chair and back again is nerve-wracking, like watching a baby learning to crawl. Deciding where to put the pole was tough. Since I do not live there full-time, it’s not up to me for that.Easy to Move Between RoomsOne of the most helpful things about this pole is that it is not locked into one spot. If your loved one changes rooms or routines, the pole can go with them. It is held in place by tension between the floor and ceiling. When you need to move it, you just release that pressure and carry it to where it is needed next — no tools, no damage.Compared to a bed rail, the cost is similar, but the flexibility makes it more useful long term. Whether it is beside the bed, near a favourite chair, or next to the toilet, this one product can do the job in all three spots.Assembly, Instructions, and SupportI was impressed by how thorough the product description is, including images of different set-ups and the videos. The company provides clear assembly instructions and those helpful videos (I am a visual person) showing exactly how to set up and use the uPole and the different circumstances it can be used under. The setup is straightforward. It helps to have someone comfortable with basic mechanics obviously because you want to make sure this is safely installed. Once properly in place, the pole feels solid and reliable. Why It Is Worth It (Practically and Emotionally)This device is practical and well designed. It’s helped ease my worries about my mom there at home with limited support (meaning no full-time care giver attending to her) but as everyone knows that’s an extreme cost. The secure locking on the Pivot Bar gives provides some confidence it will hold steady when she needs it and that means a lot when you’re trying to help someone stay safe in their own home.I’d recommend the Healthcraft uPole with Pivot Bar to anyone with mobility issues or caring for someone with mobility issues or fall risks For families trying to support a loved one aging at home, it’s offers some peace of mind.
