Total waste, doesn’t work
Doesn’t work at all on bigger jars or on screw on bottle caps. The jars it does fit on the grip doesn’t stay making it impossible to open jars. Wish I would have read all the negative reviews first instead of buying it because it was cheap (good reason it is so cheap)

I got this for my roommate…
…but it’s actually for me. She has small, not very strong hands, so she was constantly asking me to open this or that jar, and while I usually don’t mind, sometimes I would really rather not because I’m busy with something. So, the jar opener. I used it a couple times, and it did a good job. I tried it on a couple of small jars, then on one that was as big as the device would open, and it did a fine job. I highly recommend this item, for anyone elderly or otherwise with weak hands. I even suggest that people with strong hands might want it, because there’s always that one jar,that needs 3 elephants and a baby gorilla to open.

Great product would certainly purchase again! One issue for me anyway. I re-use my jars “and” their lids. This tool puts tiny bite marks in the sides of the lid when it grips. Not a big deal but as I said, I re-use the lids and those little dents may or may not effect the seal. My fix is going to be coating the ends of the tool with “tool dip”. Then there will be a rubber coating between the tool and the lid protecting the jar lid and may also improve the grip as well. (“Used it to open the “Tool Dip” can.)

Best device I have used for opening jars, and other items, that it fits around. Makes it so much easier as I get older and don’t have the strength anymore.

Great gadget
I was so happy to find this as I had the same style with a wooden handle that had been my mom’s from 1950’s but lost it when moving. This opener works better than any others I’ve tried.
