This thing came apart because it has a separate inner piece of plastic where the top of the lid rests, but then another behind it, which you see on the outside. Once the inner lid popped out, there was no way of getting it back into where it would stay and be stable. Others here I see have just the plastic that you see from the outside yes, one piece instead of two like this. I was replacing this in just a few months. I think it’s a very poor design – stick the one sturdy piece of plastic not one with an inner piece that does this. Waste of money!
