I ordered the MbH Smart Blood Glucose, Ketone, Cholesterol Monitor Kit . The product came in a giftable, easy to wrap box. The kit has everything you need but a lightning ported iPhone for up to 5 tests. There are complete instructions and a quick start guide. The quick start guide is rubbish and skips important steps. I had never used a lancet so there should be more complete lancet directions for other people that have also never used a lancet. I figured it out but it took a bit. I needed to remove my case to even insert the testing dongle. The part should be longer to avoid having to do this. The dongle itself does feel shaky though when you go to insert something so maybe a longer port connector isnt possible. I question the quality of the build because of how shaky it is. The test strips are hard to open without compromising them. A different packing would be preferred. I deducted a star for all of the above issues. After reading the instructions and figuring out the lancet, the rest of the process was pretty straight forward. It had strong reading accuracy and wit was very easy to follow the prompts and read the final output.I am interested in just the cholesterol aspect. Currently more strips are not available for purchase. What is alarming is that the “currently unavailable” listing on Amazon for the refill strips has 0 reviews, making me question if these have ever been available. Just under $60 for possibly 5 cholesterol tests is certainly a better value than what I would pay at my drs office but without refills I doubt I can recommend this kit. I deducted the second star because of this.This 3 star rating assumes accuracy of the test. I am visiting my dr soon and will update if the test really was accurate or not.Update! I reduced the stars further because I tried repeating the test this morning as a fasting test as the test I did yesterday was way higher than I anticipated. The first test “did not have enough blood” despite the spot looking full. The second test I let run for 90 minutes (the first test completed within a few minutes) and it was “Getting results” Phone was out of power by that point and I couldnt charge because the dongle plugs into the charging port. Test wouldnt read after I recharged the phone. So that is 1 questionable result per three tests. BTW, I moved my bloodwork back by two months because the result I did get spooked me and I wanted to work on my diet a bit before getting tested at my dr.

Nice design, questionably accurate.
I got this for my mom hoping it would help her in keeping an eye on her blood glucose. It tends to give different results than other testing methods. That’s somewhat normal for an “At home” test. But it’s hard to say I’d use this as anything more than a ballpark figure.The design of the device itself is quite nice. It comes with a good amount of test strips.We can’t use it anymore because we’ve upgraded her to a newer iPhone 16 and Apple has done away with the lightning connector.

Ketone, sugar, and cholesterol
I am using it with my Samsung s23+, android phone and it worked fine for me. I like having the app associated with it, as I feel its easier to track than a stand along reader. I use it for the ketone aspect to monitor ketosis for my diet. It has to be plugged into my phone and not Bluetooth, but that’s fine. No battery issues using it this way too, which is always nice. Good way to monitor glucose levels as well, which is common to check. Cholesterol is a new one for me, my old tester did not do that. Comes with all you need to get started including the lancing device. No issues using this. The price seems fair too. Glad I got it!

Impossible to find test strips. It works well, it is just really hard to get the strips.

I received the MbH Smart Blood Glucose, Ketone, Cholesterol Monitor Kit. It has a lightning port for iPad/iPhone compatibility and five tests. The directions were as clear as mud, and the product did not work well. I waited until I had routine labs ordered, and I took the tests. The lab results were not close to the results obtained by this device. I liked the lancets because they were easy to use, but I am medically trained, and I have used lancets in the past. The instructions on how to use the lancets were garbage if you are not familiar with them. The quality seems poor since the results from this device differed from lab results. Overall, it does not do what it is supposed to do, and you cannot buy replacement strips. I feel like this product is a poor value.

Comprehensive kit, supplies not easily replaced
Upsides: despite reviews, I was able to download the app to my android and then plug in the device without any issues. That is better than my current meter that relies on Bluetooth that sometimes doesnt work.I plug in the device, put in the test strip of choice and wait for it to prompt for collection. It collects the sample quickly and easily. The results are quick and store to the app history with easy-to-read results.The device itself is small and doesnt require batteries which is a great perk!Downsides: while the kit comes with everything you need at first, but i couldn’t find a quick an easy way to get more testing strips. The lancet device takes the same size lancets as my other device.I also did a comparison between the meter provided by my doctor and this one to see how close the results would be. They were taken seconds apart with a fresh droplet sample for each.Overall, the system is a nice idea and is easy to use, but replacements arent the easiest and could get costly over time.
