Useful and sturdy dual-purpose grab bar
We installed this grab bar in between our shower and toilet on the tub surround. We had elderly visitors and didn’t have permanent grab bars but wanted to keep them safe in our home.This support bar installed easily and has stayed put with no slipping. It feels very sturdy to use.If you have two curtains like us, a shower curtain and a liner, you’ll likely want to put a curtain on either side. For this reason, we added an extra grab bar on the shower wall so that our guests would always be able to reach one even with the curtains closed for a shower. Just an FYI!

Great support but a few issues
I got it to help when getting in and out of the tub, and to hold when I need to stand in the shower. It works pretty well for the most part. It’s metal and very sturdy. Installing it pretty easy and adjustable but can get hard to finish tightening. I have neuropathy so it can get difficult to get tight enough so it doesn’t move at all. May make it difficult for older people. The grip is slippery if your hands are wet, so I have to have a rag or towl close enough to dry my hands before standing up and getting out of shower. It does adjust for height but I’m 5’10 and it’s just a little short. One last issues I have is when in the shower is it has to be between the shower curtain and liner and I have to pretty much fold the liner over the handle to be able to grip it. Picture to show what I mean.

Very safe and helpful but use caution
I set this on the highest setting. It fits my sister’s tub just fine. She’s very weak and because she’s tall at 5’9′ she needs a taller aid. Because this is adjustable it has a little give. It’s rated for 300-pounds but anyone at any weight needs to be cautious. This is meant to help steady you as you get in and out of the tub. It can also help you get up from a shower chair. If you put a suction cup handle on the opposite side of the tub and use caution, you can get up in safety. The price is reasonable in my opinion. Cheaper than a new walk-in shower!

Missing Parts – Twice!
This is a great product but the problem is that the adjustment pin was missing on one side, therefore making it unstable on one side if you put pressure on it. So I contacted Amazon and they shipped a replacement order. This second order was worse than the first one! Not only was the second order missing a pin too, it was rusted – definitely used and returned to Amazon, who then reshipped it to me. I really wanted to order again, but chose not to. Too bad they had no option to provide the missing part because I would have kept the first one. It is a sturdy product and the adjustable height was great. Shame on Amazon for shipping used rusted items.
