    My son LOVES this timer
I bought this for my almost 4 year old son who loves to play with the timer on my phone. He is obsessed with his “owl timer”Helpful context to predict if a child will be obsessed with this as a toy, rather than a timer tool:My son does not have a tablet or smart device of his own.He loves letters and numbers. He can already count to 100+He is learning about clocks and time, and is fascinated that 1:00 goes to 59 instead of 99Pros:The mechanism is pretty easy to learn. I didn’t have to read the instructions to figure it out, and i was able to teach my son quicklyThe dial on the top, which controls the timer, is easy for little fingers to grasp and turn. The button function of the dial is also easy for a little one to manipulate.Seems very durable so far. My son has thrown this a few times, and nothing has broken yet.Takes AA batteries. I cannot stand when toys take button batteries, or like C batteries or something random. The little ticks are programmed to go down as a function of the total time, so there is a visual cue for how long is left. The timer sounds a lot like an alarm clock. It would be suitable as a nap or quiet time timer, as long as you don’t need more than 99 minutes and 59 seconds.Very cute!Cons:I haven’t found any yet. I’ll update if i do!

    visual function is perfect
This works like a visual timer should! You set the time, and when it starts – no matter how long or short – the “petals” around the perimeter of the timer face are a complete circle. As time slips away, so do the petals, so that when the time is halfway gone, half the petals are gone, regardless of how long or short a time was set. A child does not have to understand the value of numbers nor placement on an analog clock face to understand that only a few petals are left! Photo shows time elapsing from a two-minute timer.AND KUDOS to the manufacturer for making the alert volume adjustable!! Some reviews say it’s not adjustable. Just read the directions. It’s highly adjustable, even to silent with only the face flashing.Bonus – it’s a cute owl.The only downsides are that it has a cheap feel (especially the knob) and the lighted digital numbers have random slightly brighter and dimmer bits. You can see the slightly uneven brightness in the photos. Not a big deal.

Cute and effective but price point is too high
We got this timer to help my child with her morning routine and it’s really helping. I love how simple it is to use (since it’s just a timer and not a clock, you just need to use the top button). The petals go around the edge of the time to provide visual cues, and disappear based on the time increment. One consideration is that it only beeps about 6 times before it shuts itself off. While this is good for some people, if you have a child that is hyper-focused, they may not hear the timer in time. Overall, it’s a good timer and simpler than those I’ve used in the past, but $17 seems a little high for what it is.

    Perfect timer for kids!
After struggling with getting my son to brush his teeth long enough, we ordered him this owl timer so he’d have a visual display of how long he should be brushing for. Right out of the box, it will need two AA batteries, but then it’s ready to go! It’s incredibly easy to set, and you can adjust the volume of the alarm, which is always a plus in a world of too-loud-kid things. The display is bright and vibrant and fun to watch. The numbers will count down on screen in addition to little tick marks around the time that also count down for kids who aren’t quite ready to follow the numbers. To stop the alarm, you just push the knob on top. The whole little owl is made of plastic but feels quite durable. I also really appreciate that the battery compartment is secured with a screw for safety. I have no complaints with this product other than it’d be fun to get some in either other colors or animals!

    A great little timer
My 6 year old loves this timer, especially for brushing his teeth, and it has really helped him brush better and longer. It’s easy enough for him to control on his own if he wants, although he does often change the timer setting to an hour later, and we never know until it goes off. He likes the flower petals that he can see disappearing as the time goes by. It gives him a better understanding of how much time is left. The top knob controls all the different settings, so you’ll want to keep the instructions for a bit until you figure out how many clicks and holds do each function. This countdown timer was an excellent option for us.

So useful for kids that love the kitchen!
This owl timer is both cute and incredibly useful. The design makes it fun for kids, while the clear visual countdown helps them actually understand the passage of time. It’s been a huge help for homework, chores, and even potty training.I love that it offers both sound and silent modes—sometimes a beep is helpful, and sometimes silence is better (especially in a classroom or bedtime routine). The 99-minute range is versatile enough for everything from short tasks to longer activities.Build quality feels solid, and the bright display is easy to see from across the room. My child responds really well to the visual aspect, and it makes transitions much smoother.✅ Fun owl design kids love✅ Visual countdown is clear and engaging✅ Silent or sound modes available✅ Great for ADHD, autism, or just general time managementTL;DR: Cute and effective timer that makes time management easy for kids—perfect for homework, routines, or daily structure.
