best constructed and most versatile gait belt
I have been an ER nurse for 36 years and taking care of elderly disable parents for the last two. And of course, all hospitals say they are no lift facilities! Inside joke. I have used all kinds of various gait belts over the years and this Posey is by far the best constructed and most versatile. It is also a very good buy for only $27. I very much like the sewn on heavy duty straps that can be utilized with various sit to stand mobility aids/lift device; or with my mom who was total dead weight, and very hard to get in the car by myself, found it super easy to grab the two side handles and lift and pivot her into the car .I wish I would have found this years ago!!! Life would have been much easier. I recently recommended this to a patient’s family and they bought one and loved it too. They remarked how nice it was that they could accompany their weak and unsteady parent each holding a side handle of the belt as they were helping them walk a short distance or when they were transferring him from a bed/chair to a wheel chair.. It gave them much better control over the situation helping them prevent a fall injury to their parent. Also, the belt is adjustable from smaller stature to larger people. My mother is a 128# and my dad 275# and had no issues using this belt with their size discrepancy. A very worthwhile buy!

Good gripping handles on the belt.
The normal belts you get in therapy are harder to grip for a person not really strong. The handles were very helpful to grip.

Great for patients!
I ordered this for a girlfriend that does home health care. She says it is a very useful thing to have when dealing with those that are wheel chair bound. She was really impressed with the overall design and ease of use.

Very well made
Very well made transfer belt with multiple places to hold onto the person. The clasp is sturdy and well made. Reduces fear of the belt coming off.

If you’re reading this, you need it
At first, I felt this type of item was unnecessary, but when it was needed, I realized that a patient was much safer wearing it while coping with rehabilitation, even at home and walking room to room. If someone in your house is regaining their ability to walk comfortably, this can give the safety and reassurance that you can be there to assist and prevent a fall. You won’t use it forever, but you’ll be glad you made the investment to prevent further injury.

Handles Misplaced
Handles are hard to reach on heavier person, ~250 lbs. The belt twists while using.

works great
Works well. PT’s love it – some have used them before, others have never seen them before but after using them they liked them as well. Works great especially when you use it on the same person — i.e., no adjusting each time — and the hand holds are great if more than 1 person is helping hold the person. You can grab anywhere. Would be nice to have 1 or 2 more in the front, but this works
