Time me, time me! And write me a note too.
Amazon invited me to review this as part of the Vine program. We got the timer embedded in a white board (dry erase board.) The small white board (7.75×7.75″/200x200mm) is also magnetic, which I realized when I got out my ruler! The slick white surface will take permanent marker or dry erase marker, but the permanent marks come off with alcohol while the dry erase marks will come off with a napkin, dry cloth wipe, or felt eraser. They also remove more thoroughly with window cleaner. (I had a job in a school!)Behind the board is an attached white plastic stand with some pockets on one side that might hold some markers and an eraser and a hole on the other where the battery powered visual timer fits. The timer pushes out the front and becomes a standalone timer with a soft silicone cover around it.The timer itself, powered by a single AA battery, is set using the large white knob on the front. Whenever that knob is not at 0 a blue disk shows through for the time remaining (up to 60 minutes) and the timer begins to run. Whenever the timer returns to 0 the beeper begins. There is a soft and loud setting on the back of the timer, which has a single repeating digital tone about G5 (G note on piano one octave above middle C), about 800hz.Obviously the timer can also be used alone so I got the visual timer and the magnetic white board accessory. In our case, we have a memory-impaired family member for whom notes can be helpful and the countdown for an upcoming event seemed like it might also be useful. I think this clock is more frequently used to keep people on task who have other kinds of deficits or who simply prefer or perform better on tasks where the time is visually passing for periods of about 5 minutes to an hour (probably only useful up to about a half hour!)I plan to try this with both our senior and our four year old grandson. Two notes: Since the timer is embedded in the white board, turning it off requires reaching around to the back of the white board. The large blue button is not visible or reachable through the board. Also, one illustration describes the digital alarm as progressive. It does not change in pitch, volume, or pace when activated, but just repeats until it is turned off using the large blue button on top of the timer. And one more note: it is labeled a TIME TIMER on both the white board and the timer. This is being used as a brand name for the company’s products.

Nice Countdown Timer with Protective Silicone Case and Pop-on Slightly Magnetic Dry Erase Board
This review is for the Time Timer PRO Applied Timer with Magnetic Dry Erase Board (Color – White with Dry Erase) as part of my search for a convenient timer and whiteboard combination. This set has three pieces to it: a countdown timer, protective silicone case, and pop-on whiteboard. The timer is made out of a white colored sturdy plastic and weighs 104 grams without the battery There is a slight tilt to the timer such that the rectangular base is about 2” deep and the top is 1 ⅜” deep. The front of the timer is a clear 3 ½” x 3 ½” square face with a thin border of white plastic and a large knob in the center which can be turned counterclockwise to set a countdown interval between 0 and 60 minutes inclusive. There are one-minute hash marks and major numbered five-minute marks from 0 through 55. Turning the knob also turns a dark, teal-colored paper strip that visually represents the countdown interval. The timer is powered by an AA battery accessible through a hatch in the back. This particular model features a sliding switch on the back to set a low or medium loudness of the alarm beeping which starts with a single repeating beep before escalating to a two-beep pattern, three-beep pattern, and a final almost continuous beep pattern. Pushing on the teal-colored oval button on the top of the timer will silence the alarm. The protective case is a silicone sleeve that weighs 30 grams which slips over the timer to cover the rear, sides, and the bezel of the timer face. Fitting the case over the timer is required to keep the timer in place when popping on the whiteboard which weighs 332 grams and has a slightly tilted 7 ¾” x 8” whiteboard surface less the 3 ½” x 3 ½” section that is taken up by the timer. The whiteboard rests on a thick and durable 2 ¼” deep white plastic stand, the back of which conveniently features two small sections to store whiteboard markers or pens. Workmanship and quality of the protective case are good in that it is a nice snug fit with good alignment around the oval button on the top of the timer.Using the timer and whiteboard combination has been a nice and easy way to keep the kids on task. I like that the timer is conveniently embedded on the lower right portion of the whiteboard so that the kids can easily see the items they’re working on while checking the remaining time. Getting the case onto the timer was easy and I like that it’s simple and straightforward to pop the timer into the whiteboard and that there are alignment grooves in the board that match up with the runners on the bottom of the timer. The only annoyance I’ve encountered is that it’s a bit too easy to push the timer too far into the board, after which it becomes somewhat difficult to remove and also lifts up on the dry erase surface. Other than that, the timer works as expected with a clean and read countdown face. Note that this timer model doesn’t offer the option to work with the alarm noise off, but it’s easy enough to slip the protective case over a timer model that does offer a no alarm noise option and then pop the timer and case into the whiteboard. All in all, this is a nice and effective timer plus dry erase board combination. I recommend this as a good time management option with the added benefit of a reusable writable surface.
