Cost-effective pulse-ox
This is a compact pulse ox device that measures the pulse ox, the heart rate, calculates the effectiveness of perfusion (PI%) and also measures the respiration rate.The device is easy to use: power on, attach to finger, and allow the device to obtain the reading. The pulse, pulse ox (oxygen saturation), and PI % appear fairly quickly; the respiration rate takes a little more time, and isn’t always accurate. (For a person with regular breathing, the rate normalizes in about 30 seconds and is pretty accurate; but for persons that have a frequently changing rate, this measurement isn’t as accurate as I’d like.)Easy to use, accurate, 5/5 stars.

This oximeter arrived in a carrying pouch, so you can travel easily with it. It also includes two lanyards, one for wrist, and one for around the neck.Initially, I thought the batteries would be included, this requires 2 AAA batteries. It did not include batteries, but it’s ok. The reading is easily understandable, and the heart rate is shown on the screen as well as the blood oxygen. The heart rate also shows like the heart meter on the screen, which is interesting.I think this would be a nice gift, and would be something to have at home in the first aid kit.
