I waited a little while before I wrote anything, so it will be based on true experience. I owned a Roku smart TV before so I was familiar with the brand. I decided to get rid of my cable (almost $300 per month and I had NO zippo premium channel, none), and searched for streaming device. I am Amazon prime member but Amazon’s fire TV forces their product and options to you first plus I am SURE your choices shared with others for marketing! purposes. Honestly never liked apple so I went with Roku.Extremely easy to set up. Honestly, I get bored quick, this was easy and fast. Connected to my modem and solid, steady connection. It has lots of apps available to select from. I use live TV option, Amazon prime, Paramount plus , Netflix and peacock. However, as I said many to include Disney Plus, Hulu, Sling TV, Apple Tv and so on available for subscription. It was the best choice for me. It might be for you as well.

Let’s get one thing out of the way: this Roku Ultra is so good, I’m pretty sure it’s the reason I stopped leaving the house. 4K, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Atmos, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6, a remote with a rechargeable battery and glorious backlit buttons — honestly, I don’t even watch anything half the time, I just scroll through the menus in beautiful Ultra HD.It’s fast. It’s slick. And unlike my smart TV’s built-in apps, it doesn’t crash like a toddler after sugar.Also, the remote lights up, which means I no longer have to feel around the couch cushions like I’m decoding ancient runes every time I want to pause the show and yell at someone.Oh, and the voice search? Yeah, it works great… unless you slur your way through “find me something not terrible” — in which case it bravely presents every Hallmark movie ever made.But really, what more could I ask for? A device that streams literally everything, doesn’t judge me for watching a 7-season true crime doc in two days, and makes me feel vaguely like a tech wizard every time I say, “Launch Netflix” and it actually does.Forget sliced bread — this thing is the freshly baked sourdough of streaming players.10/10 would Ultra again. I own three.

voice activation feature is a real treat
This device was so much easier to set up and use than I expected, and the voice activation feature is a real treat. The streaming quality is excellent. 4K playback is sharp and consistent with no lag or buffering. The remote is intuitive, and the interface makes finding apps and shows effortless. Great Roku device, but YouTube needs fixing
The Roku overall works really well – setup was smooth, the interface is easy to navigate, and most streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video run perfectly without any issues. Picture quality is solid and performance is responsive.The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of YouTube. For some reason, YouTube refuses to load properly while every other app works fine on the same network connection. It just keeps saying “No connection,” even though the Roku itself is clearly online since other apps stream without buffering.I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling YouTube and resetting the device, but the issue still persists. It feels like a software compatibility problem between Roku and YouTube rather than a hardware issue.If Roku and YouTube can address this glitch, this would easily be a 5-star streaming device.

Love the ROKU Ultra
ROKUs just keep getting better. I remember buying one of the first ROKUs way back when, and they’ve consistently kept up with the innovations in streaming and picture quality. This current version of the Ultra continues the improvement in quality and value for the money.I wanted a TV for my garage, but didn’t want to sped a lot of money. I bought an Acer 27” G0bi 4k monitor on sale for a little over $100 and the ROKU Ultra for $70+. I already had a Mesh network set up, so I didn’t have to string cable or do anything other than add a power strip. I also had a couple of Bluetooth speakers which work well with the ROKU.After unboxing, I was up and running within minutes. I’m glad I went with the ROKU Ultra because of the added features of a Bluetooth speaker or headset connection, a lighted remote, a beeping remote if lost, a beautiful 4k picture, plug and play (I date myself), and a piece of electronic gear that always works right out of the box.I highly recommend this setup for any garage or office where space may be limited. Besides a great tv setup it also doubles as a bigger screen monitor for my laptop when I need to do work

This is a fast media player with a few good bells and whistles. If you are based in the UK, as I am, then this particular player does not support the following apps: U, My 5, BBC iPlayer and Channel 4. ITV X is supported along with STV. All other major platforms work too, this includes Now TV. If you require a streamer which supports all of the UK platforms, this streamer is not for you. If, like me, you can live without those platforms, this streamer will not disappoint.
