This is a wonderful and very important book
This book is amazing. It should be read aloud in every classroom. It’s full of joy, hope, and truth. There are so many children with terminal illnesses that are not so obvious as well as those with special needs that are obvious. This book is a great way to start a conversation about inclusion and acceptance with children. I read this with a 7 year old and it was perfect for him. The conversations we had afterward were priceless.Ms. Patel should be commended for her great work.

Heartwarming: Will make you want to know more about Jaylen!
This is a touching story written about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I read this with both my children, ages 8 and 4. My 8 year old son was in tears towards the end (as was I). He was touched, and started to understand how life will always be very different for Jaylen. But at the end he is just the same as other second graders. Beautifully touching and compassionate for children and adults like. This should be required reading for all elementary schools.

This book is well written about a beautiful boy and his family. The main character displays courage and wisdom well beyond an average boy his age. He has to, because he has dealt with more adversities than most adults. It’s a wonderful lesson in compassion, perseverance and diversity. Thank you!

Running in Firefighter Boots is a wonderfully composed book about my special little nephew. This is a book dedicated to him, and helping others understand what is really, muscular dystrophy. Written with exemplary care & devotion and it’s written in a matter that is suitable for children. Whomever reads this, they will be left with a special place in their hearts and minds.
