    The best
This belt has proved to be one of my favorite purchases. It enables my wife to get around almost normally. We can go out to eat without a bulky walker or wheelchair and it is very comfortable. I can snap it closed around her and hold one or two of the handles as she gets out of the car and into a building. I still feel kind of funny doing this with her but nobody really notices. You can have a firm grip on the handles yet not be interfering with her balance. Release the buckle when she gets to her seat and store it during the meal. We do daily walks around the block for her rehab. There have been a few times where she lost her balance and I was able to quickly recover her without harm. All of the health care workers we encounter say this is the nicest gait belt they have ever seen.No “cons” at all. Just be aware that this small belt isn’t usually stocked and you may have to wait for the backorder.

    maybe a bit small
works well, maybe runs a little small, will have to get another size bigger if very skinny 80 yr old father is able to gain a couple of pounds, but for now, fits and is functional. You want this type of belt to be snug for safe transfer, but don’t know if it would quite fit the upper range in description

Fantastic belt which has growth potential
We got this for our 49″ tall Special Needs eight year-old son to wear during his hippotherapy (therapy on horseback): his two sidewalkers are able to easily grab the loops for an additional measure of safety. I LOVE that this belt is able to go as small as it does — small enough for his little waist, and he clearly won’t outgrow its size anytime soon (as by loosening the webbing it can be made big). We already had to adjust it to accommodate for winter coat, spring jacket, and soon, t-shirt girth! While no device should ever take the place of adult vigilance, this belt definitely makes it easier for those lovely, generous folks who make it possible for my son to stay on the horse during his beloved activity. I would purchase this again in a New York minute. Absolutely.

sizing wrong and I had to pay for it
I bought a medium for my husband which worked great – no complaints about the function – but became too loose. He now wears 34 waist pants. I ordered the small size belt and we received a belt that would fit a child. it did not come close to meeting in the middle – there was about an 8 inch gap between the two ends of the belt. There was no way that would ever fit a 34″ waist. I returned the belt and $10 was removed from my payment to pay for shipping for a belt they sent me in error! The belt is great but I would never deal with this company again.

    Not sure.
Jury still out on this. Probably works better on some individuals than others. A little cumbersome on my wife, but I’ll still keep trying. Has a tendency to slide up and cause discomfort.

    transfer belt
It did help in lifting my daughter, but it does not stay in place. It rides up as soon as you try to lift. If it wasn’t for the chest area it would slide all the way over her head. I have it quite snug but it still slides way up when lifting her.

Best belt for safety and comfort!
Bought for my father who needs help with his transfers. This belt makes him feel safe. He forgets to take it off because it is comfortable. He really likes it and it keeps everyone that helps helps him feel safe as well. Good handles for the caregiver to help support him. Easy to put on and off. I am a retired occupational therapist and I give it a big thumbs up.

    multi-purpose
I bought this for my handicapped son. I have a ceiling rail system to assist in moving him from bedroom to bathroom. He still can walk assisted so my DIY plan was to strap this belt to the rail system so he wouldn’t kill my back and kick me in the shins while he walks. It works really well for this. Now we use it as it was meant to be used also. It really helps to have something to grab that doesn’t pinch him!
