I love this timer for my classroom. You can set it to a quiet signal or alarm. It has a very strong magnet and the timer is easy to turn. I love the visual countdown it provides for my students without having to use my smart board!

Great timer at a good price.
This timer works very well. Extremely easy to operate. A child could set it easily! Has magnetic strips on the back so it is attached to my refrigerator. Handy for kitchen use and doesn’t get misplaced. Highly recommend this 60 minute timer.

Not a single groan or complaint from my tough urban high school students
I teach in a very rowdy urban district with armed security guards and rambunctious teenagers, and not a single student complained when I started using this to time activities last week. In fact, I think they really appreciate having a sense of how long they have to complete DO NOW activities before I move on to something else, or how long they have to wait before they can start asking to use the bathroom pass at the beginning of a class period. The visual information and objectivity of a clock seem to be all they needed. Not one single groan in any of my classes–and believe me, they find ways to complain about just about anything.As a teacher with ADHD, I also find this helps keep ME on track, because I have a very poor internal sense of time. So at the end of the day, when I’m doing work in my classroom, I use this timer for myself, so that I finish up and get out of the building in time to make sure I can meet my son when he gets off the school bus back at home. It was a seriously frantic race before this!

Love the size!
This model has a battery, the previous version I bought was mechanical which did not last, this is the one to get, Love the size!Update: This second one lasted about a year and stopped, I used it about 10 times per day, the battery version I was hoping would last longer. Bought another one, are there others out their that are similar, I’d be willing to try a different brand

BUYER BEWARE: very short lifespan
I bought one of these timers, and liked it so much, that I came back and purchased another one about six weeks later. They both were working wonderfully for our needs, which included helping my toddler son with a visual reminder of “time remaining until transition,” until they both JUST STOPPED WORKING. I have replaced the batteries in them both multiple times, but neither timer will function properly, as the dial appears to get “stuck.”Unfortunately, it seems that many other purchasers have experienced the same types of problems with their respective timers. I wish that those negative reviews appeared BEFORE I bought these timers, as this is obviously not just simply one defective item. For $20, I expect these timers to last more than a few months.
