Repeat customer due to excellent experience.
I purchased this product several years ago for a family member with some physical and cognitive issues that made him a fall risk. The wireless alarm allowed us to keep him safe while not alerting him to the reason why we always seemed to “catch him” getting up without asking for assistance. 😉 The product worked well and was easy to set up. The staff at the assisted living facility that he moved into loved that we had this because it helped them keep a close eye on our family member. I recently purchased a second set for another family member who had become a fall risk. Unfortunately, right after I ordered it, her condition rapidly declined, and by the time it arrived, she was no longer in need of it because she was being moved into hospice care. When I tried to start a return, it said it wasn’t eligible for return; however, when I reached out to Amazon Customer Service, they processed the return/refund once I explained the situation and informed them that the package hadn’t even been opened.

Must Have for Caregivers!
Works great – within seconds (it isn’t immediate, FYI) the alarm is activated upon the patient getting up.The alarm is super loud, and has additional settings to reduce the level of noise. It’s also pretty easy to use and understand, and can be carried around the house.We have a really large house (10,000 sq ft) and it seems to work even when one of us is at opposite ends of the house, so good reach distance. Perfect for those who may want to do his/her own thing (watch tv, work outside, take a nap, cook, etc..) while still being able to aware of when the patient is getting out of his/her bed/chair.The pads that came (seat & bed) have a 1 year life cycle, which is nice since we don’t have to spend extra $ to replace them every month or so.NOTE: The wireless device/alarm malfunctioned within a couple weeks, but the company reached out to us in regards to the issue and sent us a replacement that works perfect. So excellent customer service!

What a great idea !
This is such a great product. I was skeptical at first, but thought is was worth a try. It has given me such peace of mind knowing when my mom is sitting up in another room. It works perfectly. I can go about my chores not worrying when she may be trying to get out of the bed or chair or sofa. I bought both bed and chair alarms as a package. Good move. It’s wireless and portable. I can carry the chair alarm with me when I travel. She has fallen out of bed a few times before I purchased this product; and now…. no more falls. My biggest worry is she may break her hip. This has reduced that chance so very much. I highly recommend this Alarm.

Good Monitor
The pads work as expected.Kerr Medical shipped fully assembled. All I had to do was add three C batteries to the alarm and program the alarm to recognize the pads.Programming was just pressing a pin into the back of the alarm until two LED lights lit up in the alarm, then sit on – and get off of the pads, then press the pin into the back one time to finish.The plastic pads make a little stiff plastic “crinkle” noise if they are not under a mattress or couch cushion. This draws attention of my senior Mom and can lead to repetitive questions, or removal if I’m not watching.The alarm is made for wall mounting or setting on something. My preference is slipping it into a front pants pocket. The alarm is larger and heavier than a wallet but it works ok for me and I wear loose fit jeans. If it goes off, I just reach into the pocket and reset the chime.When Mom is on the couch I may be at the computer in front of her on the floor. When the couch (chair pad) alarm goes off, she is typically already on her feet and stepping away.Left on her own she would go onto the porch in summer heat, so this is just adequate warning. With her fall risk I don’t know if another product would alert me faster or physically impede her (which I really don’t want to do).The directions (mention) imply that this also works with “Cordless Floor Mat”, “Cordless Nurse” call button and “Cordless motion sensor”.The “Low volume” is not disruptive, about as loud as a typical cell phone ring.This may be like the Bed Alarm and Bed Pad (Cord Free) if it uses the 433-EC alarm, but this includes a chair pad (see their reviews for more feedback). One of those reviews mentions a power plug adapter – but I did not receive one for this product.
