You won’t be disappointed!!
This alarm has been heaven sent! My dear 96 year old MIL has been with us for a year. Until then, was living , driving and caring for herself in her own home.Recently we needed some kind alert so that I could get enough sleep to continue to care for her in the proper manner. She weighs about 110 lbs and this alarm works perfectly. The alert is like a doorbell, which is nice, not jolt you out of bed emergency type of alarm!I keep the base right at my bedside and can immediately turn it off and attend to her without my husband being jolted awake( he’s a dialysis patient and needs his rest too) I added the nurses call button after a week for her to call me from the bathroom or if she’s sitting on the porch. It gives each of us some freedom but security.Well worth the money and the peace of mind.Before I purchased this, I was waking up every hour to check on her. What a wonderful, affordable tool to be able to set a mind at ease.I am 100% satisfied!!

Very effective device but failed after 9 mos. use
This bed alarm worked very well to detect motion however failed after 9 months of use. Contact with manufacturer Smart Caregiver for replacement pad did not result in resolution of the issue. They advised that I had to go through the seller to get a replacement pad. Was unable to contact the seller Alexthon to get help. If you are thinking of buying this item, do not get it from Alexthon…you get no customer service from them

Peace of Mind
I would say this alarm has been extremelly helpful with respect to allowing us to sleep without concern that my mother is getting up without supervision. I especially like the fact that the alarm is able to be brought to whatever room I am in. Although there are three levels of sound, so, sometimes I just leave it in a nearby room, still able to hear the alarm even if I move among the rooms. As noted in other reviews, there is a ‘crinkling’ noise when the person moves in the bed, but we have an incontinence pad over the alarm pad, and my mom is undisturbed by the crinkling sound. Positioning of the pad (I used safety pins to keep the pad in place on the mattress) may require a bit of trial and error and will depend on the person’s sleep habits, and speed of rising. I would say this purchase was totally worth it for our situation. I also purchased the ac adapter, as others had written that the cost of battery replacements was expensive. The adapter has worked out well.

Life Saver!
I got this for my grandpa with Alzheimer’s. He will get out of bed and not ask for help, but he can’t walk without assistance. My mom sleeps upstairs,so this has been a lifesaver. The chime volume is loud and perfect for waking her. She has time to walk down the stairs and be in his room to assist him before he is on his feet. We put the pad behind his back so once he is scooting to get up,it goes off. No false alarms! So thankful!

2 OUT OF 3 IS BAD
ordered 3 of these for my dads house, 2 of the 3 had the same short in the wiring box going into pad. the one that worked is great, but same problem on 2 shows me there is a bad design flaw

Great product but not for those with fall risk.
This alarm does not sound as someone is trying to get up. It sounds after they get up and are walking around. I needed an immediate alert, not a delayed one, so it did not meet my needs. However, it is a good quality product. It would be great for someone who wants to be alerted that someone is up and wandering but not for someone who is a fall risk.

I like this item
I like this item, but unfortunately it has only lasted a year. All of a sudden it stopped working and now I find myself having to spend money to buy another one due to the fact my mom is elderly and gets out of bed and I am afraid of a fall. It worked great while it lasted. 🙁

I can now get some rest.
This has been a life saver. Alarm is easy to set up and reliable. It allows me to sleep peacefully at night while knowing that my relative will not be getting out of bed without my help. We use it day and night. The effective, but pleasant sounding chime alarm can be heard at every part of our house, but just to be sure I have been taking it with me when I am busy and distracted. Even if I have to get up during the night, I can go right back to bed knowing that the alarm is on duty! It’s so important for the caretaker to be well rested and this setup allows for that. I was able to dismiss all of the night nurses who were here just for the purpose of making sure my relative did not try to get up and fall. This is saving us a ton of money in nurses fees. Shipment came promptly and well packaged. i highly recommend this alarm.
