Every nursing home and hospice place and individual taking care of someone should have one.
My mom is in home hospice and I take care of her. She has a degenerative brain disease that affects her motor skills and speech. She can’t chew. This is amazing and I don’t know how someone says it is poorly made. It is not. I do wash by hand. This is great for liquids. You just take off the top plunger part and she’s able to drink easily. For pureed foods, you put it in and press down on the plunger and it works well….don’t press too hard. You get the hang of it eventually. I sent my mom to hospice to give me a break and she’s not able to eat or drink with what they have. I want this to be in every room in every nursing home and hospice unit. Honestly, this is a great product. It is ridiculously expensive, but it works. It gets food and liquid in and it is extremely speedy in doing so. Your person will end up with the food or drink in his or her mouth and not on the bib. It took forever for me to spoon feed my mom and much of it ended up on a bib. This gets 80 percent in her mouth and in her tummy. Wish I could afford more to have one dedicated to fruit, liquid, soup….Buy it if you are frustrated with feeding.

Helpful device. 2 area of concern
This device is helpful for feeding an adult with limited oral functions for chewing and swallowing. 2 concerns; the hard plastic rubs the sides of the cylinder, the larger piece that fits at the very bottom of the plunger– I fear very small shards of plastic could rub off and be pushed into the feeding tube to be swallowed by the person being feed. The 2nd concern is the food has to be pretty liquified to be pushed or forced through the rubber feeding tube. Pureed meats and vegetables has to have quite a bit of fluidity to make it up through the soft plastic spout that delivers the food.

Great Device …. poorly constructed
Use with my son daily and it’s an inventive and workable product. Nozzle screw constantly strips it’s threads and plunger breaks often. Very cheaply made and constantly reordering a new unit and replacement parts are unavailable. Expensive, but useful; innovative by poorly made.

Very sad that this item is so expensive.
Please full item for the purpose it serves however it is very expensive and the threads on virtually all the fittings will break eventually. Please make sure you hand wash it every time.

Literally a life saver
My wife has Parkinsons Disease. She has a swallowing problem at the Facility she’s in. They have her on pureed foods which when given were more on her shirt than in her mouth. This was suggested to me by the Speech Therapist. Works great. I hope this will allow her to gain back weight lost. easy to use ( I can even do it on visits.) A little pricey but cheaper on Amazon by half. Would recommend it.

I have been using this for my father who is on moderately thickened fluids. He is able to control the rate of flow with just a sucking motion as he is unable to use his hands. There is no need to press as the top recreates a suction.

… and if you tighten it to tight it brakes easy
Works perfectly however the screw on feeding tube connection is cheap and if you tighten it to tight it brakes easy
