A Very Helpful Book
When I experienced SSHL in 2021 I had no idea how terrible this affliction would turn out to be. This book will be a great comfort to those undergoing the physical and emotional trauma of sudden hearing loss. It’s very helpful to read that you are not alone- many others have experienced just what you are going through, and you WILL get through it. Early on in my hearing loss journey I reached out to co-author Carly Sygrove, whose kindness, caring , compassion and expertise helped pull me through it all. This book will also be a great resource to help others understand what their loved ones are going through- it’s a much bigger deal than most people think.

Must have for anyone who experiences sudden hearing loss.
This book was such a game changer for my mom who had sudden hearing loss. I bought this for her after she had an unexpected, profound loss in one ear. She told me that this book helped her through the initial shock of her loss and she felt comforted by learning that she was not alone. The other individual stories were incredibly comforting. Additionally, this book talks in depth about how the hearing system works, which gave her a better understanding of what happened to her ear. This book is a must have for anyone who experiences sudden hearing loss.

A super resource
I lost my hearing over lunch in 20 minutes and it was shocking. I wish I had had this book as a resource. I struggled for years until finally getting a cochlear implant. Wish I had some guidance back then. This will help so many people.

I only wish I had this book when I had Sudden Hearing Loss as it is a great support and resource. When you are first diagnosed it’s quite a lonely place to be and it was the support of others that was so important and helpful to me. I think it will also be of benefit to friends and family of those with hearing loss.
