Surprisingly strong, quiet, and easy to use
I was skeptical at first about automating my curtains, but this device has turned out to be one of my favorite smart home upgrades. Installation was simple and didn’t require taking down the rod or using tools. The app walks you through setup step by step, and calibration was straightforward. The motor is strong enough to handle my heavier curtains without struggling. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it is, especially in silent mode. I now have it scheduled to open in the morning so I wake up to natural light, and to close at night for privacy. The scheduling feature works reliably, and I can also control the curtains from my phone or with voice commands through Alexa once paired with the hub.The design hides nicely behind the curtain so it’s not noticeable, and the battery life has been solid. I have only needed to top it off once after weeks of use. I like that there’s an option to add a solar panel for charging, which I might do later.Overall this is a great way to bring a little convenience and comfort into daily life without having to invest in expensive custom motorized blinds. If you’re curious about smart curtains, this is a practical and affordable choice.

Silent and seamless
I had the previous version of this and this product was definitely worth upgrading to. This new version is absolutely silent over a bump I have in my curtain rod (whereas the previous version made a slight noise). Installation and instructions were super easy and the calibration using the magnets worked well. The device is basically hidden behind the blinds so you don’t even notice it is there, though the device itself feels and look good. Despite my heavy curtains and them not sliding super well on the rod, the device had no problem moving them.I got the version with the remote and I was able to add the remote to the app seamlessly and program the buttons to open and close the curtains. I wish there was a way to have different speeds for opening and closing the curtains though and when triggered by different things. Additionally, maybe I was doing it wrong in the setup but as far as I could tell, if you get the 2 pack, you have to install both; it is not a substitute for 2 single items.

Best install for my curtains
I’m honestly blown away by how easy this was to set up. No tools, no drilling, no headache — I literally clipped it onto my existing rod, placed the magnets, connected it in the app, and it was running in minutes. If you want something effortless, this is it.The 2025 upgrade is definitely noticeable. The bigger guide wheel glides over small bumps in the rod with zero hesitation, and it handles my heavier curtains like a champ. The positioning magnets make everything feel more precise and smooth without that clunky “foreign object” look. The motor is strong. It opens and closes my thick blackout curtains with no struggle at all, and the precision is perfect — no weird light gaps or constant recalibration. My favorite feature? Silent Mode. It’s truly whisper-quiet. I can open my curtains in the morning without waking anyone, and at night I don’t hear a thing. If you’re sensitive to noise, this feature alone makes it worth it.I also love that it works with Matter and Apple HomeKit (with the Hub 2/3). Controlling it from my phone, Apple Watch, or HomePod feels seamless, and it integrates perfectly with the rest of my smart home setup.Overall, this is a fantastic upgrade for any room. Easy install, powerful motor, super quiet, and smart-home friendly. Absolutely worth the 5 stars!

Superb product
Excellent product for automating curtains to open and close. It was very easy to install and control with the iPhone. It would be great to have these in colors to match the rods – that would be a 5 star rating

Didn’t Think I Needed This… Now I Love It
I wasn’t sure if this curtain opener was going to be worth upgrading from my current Curtain Rod 2, but after hooking it up with my SwitchBot Hub 2, I’m honestly impressed. Setup was quick—clipped it onto the rod, added the little magnets, and had it running in about five minutes. The motor is strong enough to handle my heavy blackout curtains without a problem, and it moves really smoothly. The QuietDrift mode is great—it barely makes a sound, so I can have the curtains open in the morning without waking anyone.I also added the solar panel, which keeps the battery topped up. Haven’t had to plug it in once since I set it up.With the Hub 2, I’ve got it tied into my routines so the curtains open when I wake up and close at night. It feels pretty fancy not having to touch them anymore.Only thing I’d say is make sure your curtain rod is the right size. Mine worked fine, but I could see that being an issue for some people.Overall, this has been one of those “didn’t realize how much of an upgrade this would be until I tried it” purchases. Super easy to set up, works reliably, and honestly makes daily life a little smoother.

It works reliably a
I like the smooth operation and how it works with Alexa. I use it twice everyday. The quiet mode was super silent…I’d use it but I don’t have to wake early now.The directions on the magnet installation were not detailed enough. It added hours to my setup time. I’d like tips on getting it to close tighter.

Not for all curtain types
Good in theory and may work better on curtains without rings but even with clips constantly was binding up failed to open and would stick on rod.

For the lazy. 🙂
In the 1970s, when the new garage door openers first came out, I remember my dad saying, “How lazy does someone need to be to not want to get out of the car and open a door?!” About a decade later, he owned one.You won’t realize you needed something to open your drapes until you actually buy one and use it. It’s awesome that they can close at sunset and open at sunrise. I set mine to open an hour before sunrise, and it happens without my even noticing. The quiet drift mode makes it almost totally silent.

The item was returned. They didn’t even make it out of the box. They are really heavy and require a full bolted rod in place. The seller was easy to deal with and getting the item returned.

Game Changer for My Curtains!I recently installed the SwitchBot Curtain 3 (Rod version), and I’m absolutely impressed! The setup was quick and straightforward — within minutes, my curtains were moving smoothly with just a tap on my phone. The device is sleek and blends seamlessly with my curtain rod, without looking bulky or out of place. The motor is quiet yet powerful, easily handling my heavy curtains. I love that I can schedule them to open in the morning and close at night automatically. The app works flawlessly, and integration with smart assistants makes it even more convenient. One of my favorite things is the smooth movement — it feels like a luxury upgrade without the huge cost of motorized curtain systems. If you’re looking for a smart home upgrade, this is worth every penny!

I’ve been using the SwitchBot Curtain 3 for a while now, and it’s honestly a huge upgrade. Setup was straightforward — the app install took no time, and pairing it with Google Home was seamless. Matter support works great; I’ve got it tied into a few automations, and the quiet/slow mode makes waking up a lot less harsh. The motor is impressively quiet but still strong enough to handle thicker curtains. Battery life is supposed to last around eight months! One tip — if your curtains open from the center, make sure to grab two units (one for each side). That’s not really a flaw, just something to plan for. Overall, the hardware feels premium, the app is clean and stable, and performance has been great so far. Definitely one of those smart home upgrades that works — highly recommend.

Very high quality product ; good packaging, good instructions, well-made extras widgets for different type of rod curtain attachment (you can see them in Switch-bot installation videos). The Curtain 3 device feels solid and sturdy. It is heavy, so, you may need to add a support in the middle of your rod if it is already caving down. I made a video with a 5 kg weight on an 8 feet rod and an eyelet that creates more friction than a normal curtain eyelet would. Also, note that a curtain’s weight is spread over many eyelets, not just one. I was surprise that the device could move the 5 kg without any issue (I didn’t expect that). The little magnet (discrete) provided is very good for high precision closing, I did some test without the magnets, and it worked but not as nicely, I’ll recommend installing the magnets.I have no doubts that these curtain openers will work on my heavy thermal insulated curtains at my winter cottage.Having 3 configurable speeds is really a plus for me, not too noisy at high speed and extremely quiet at the lowest speed.Note, that it doesn’t come with a power adapter to recharge the battery, not a real problem these days with all the electronic USB gadget we already have!
