This was a great gift for my daughter.
A gift for my daughter who is Type 1 autistic like the author. She says it’s spot on and chock full of good info.

Autism Spectrum Characteristics is not the same as ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition)
As a retired career software engineer, I recommend this book, particularly for those of us who are INTJ and/or Enneagram Type 5 and have often or long wondered if they are also “just maybe a tad bit or almost Autistic”. Dave brings up in his book the idea that one can be off of the spectrum in the so-called “non visible” part – a concept derived from the visible and non-visible portions of the Light Spectrum of colors from Red on the left to blue-violet on the right. Dave well presents the awareness that in Autism there is more than just a left-to-right linear spectrum. Instead, there is a more complex two dimensional five- or six-sided diagram with the corners as points away and out from a central dot (where the Non-Visible part resides).Wikipedia, in my last look, has a page for Autism and mentioning of the ASC and ASD terms for Autism Spectrum (Condition versus Disorder). There is not yet a term for Autism Spectrum Characteristics, so there is room for confusion when considering the ASC letters. I think the clinical assessment industry has some more research work to do. I also suspect that just being INTJ (with or without being Type 5) may be a determinate itself of being Autism Spectrum Characteristic. To the best of my knowledge, Dave has not yet made public his own Temperament or Enneagram type. Knowing that in advance would really help while reading any of his books on the subject.

    The autism Spectrum
My husband came across an online video featuring David William Plummer, one of the early figures at Microsoft, discussing his book on autism. After watching the video, my husband thought I might be interested, so I purchased two of Plummer’s books: The Nonvisible Part of the Autism Spectrum and its sequel, Secrets of the Autistic Millionaire. I have finished reading The Nonvisible Part of the Autism Spectrum, which delves into Plummer’s experience of being diagnosed with autism after retiring from Microsoft. The book highlights the concept of neurodiversity, emphasizing that autism is a natural variation in brain wiring and not a condition that requires fixing or curing. Plummer also addresses the shift from “Asperger’s syndrome” to “high-functioning autism.”

One of the most important books I’ve read in years.
Very well written. Touches on a subject that really helped me understand myself better, giving me insight into my idiosyncrasies like no other book ever has.

I bought both of Dave’s books on the subject. If you’re new to manging your autism, this book will take years off your learning curve.

If you are curious you are on the spectrum…
Very good read. Having followed Mr. Plummer on YouTube, I was curious when I saw he had written a book about the autism spectrum. Very enlightening. I can recommend whether you think you might be on the spectrum, or you may wonder if someone you know may be. Lots of useful descriptions of some of the behaviors on the spectrum and clear descriptions of what they mean and why the person does some of them.

    Helping shift my perspectives
This book has helped me to be able to see that I’m not just on the spectrum, but I’m like 80% Sheldon Cooper. 😳 Still working on an official diagnosis, but more at peace with myself than I’ve ever been. Still a long road ahead, but it’s nice knowing that I’m not alone in this anymore.

This book contains much of the same material as the original book “Secrets of the Autistic Millionaire” for those who have some characteristics of ASD without the full-blown condition. It explains many things and is very enlightening, with tips on how to deal with many difficult situations. Written by someone who has an official ASD diagnosis it offers an insider’s view of the condition.I have both books, but I’d recommend that you get the one that best reflects your (or your friend or family member’s) situation.
