Quality remains with well-designed, functional option.
Rubber around the edges is firm and helps take the bumps better if it’s in a situation where it’s around kids and is being constantly moved around to and from tables or desks. Obviously it’s not indestructible, but this is a nice option. It still sits stable upon a surface with the rubber tracks around the face It’s made well and adds a curious, more rugged, and fun tactile experience yet remains the similar functional and practical size. I have used these with my children for years and myself (the plain version) at work. Excellent tool as adjunct to visually stay on track with tasks, break times, etc. Its appearance is quality and does not look like a cheap knock-off. The timer is accurate – as has been on all the Time Timers I have purchased over the years. Make sure you purchase the brand-name Time Timer.

    Stable base, rugged construction
You don’t need to be a kid to love this ruggedized Time Timer. I live with a whole family of ADHD folks and we have a number of these timers around the house. This one is my favorite, as the chunky surround not only keeps it safe from damage if it’s knocked off a shelf (we carry them around the house for task work), but it makes the base much more stable than our other timers. The alarm sounds the same as our others, and the timing is accurate. The visual design of the Time Timer helps us all stay on track, and that’s what it’s all about.

Good Quality Countdown Timer. Protective Rubberized Bumper Sleeve. Effective Time Management Tool
This review is for the Time Timer MOD with Tire Protective Case. I received a free taxable sample of this timer and protective case set to review in my search for a durable time management tool. The set is composed of two pieces: a countdown MOD timer and a protective case. The timer weighs 100 grams and is a 3 ½” wide x 3 ½” tall wedge shape constructed out of a reasonably durable white plastic. The face of the timer is slanted at about a 20-degree angle such that the base is 1 ⅞” deep whereas the top is only 1 ⅜” deep. One-minute hash marks are printed counterclockwise on the face of the timer, with every five minutes from 0 through 55 represented as a bolded number. A small white knob in the center of the white-colored face turns a red-colored paper strip (⅞” radius) to help visually set the time duration. The back of the timer features a physical sliding switch that enables or disables the beeping alarm (four sets of two beeps) as well as a battery compartment for an AA battery to power the timer. The protective case is a rubberized bumper sleeve that weighs 178 grams and measures 4 ¼” x 4 ¼” x 2 ½”. There are 28x ridges around the outside of the case that create an almost construction vehicle tire look. The case feels quite rugged and durable with a defined front and rear. The front features a large cutout that shows the entire face of the timer except for a tiny edge, and the rear of the bumper sleeve similarly allows free access to the battery compartment and physical sliding alarm switch on the back of the timer. There is also a defined top and bottom to the case such that the physically slanted timer body fits snugly within the protective sleeve. Given the consistent dimensions, I believe this case could be used interchangeably with other MOD timers. In terms of use, this timer has been a great time management tool in helping me and others to focus in and start on various tasks. I like the noiseless operation and have only been turning on the beeping alarm sound when working with kids, whereas my personal preference has been to work with the alarm noise off. I like the overall clean look of the white timer face and the red dial which is a nice complement to the gray color of the case. The case has protected the timer quite well from taking damage, and I like that the rubberized surface and grippier edges make it easier to carry the timer around. All in all, this is a nice and highly functional countdown timer and case set that offers good value for the money, especially when discounted. I recommend this as a good option for a durable time management tool that can help with getting started on tasks.

Really great quality visual timer that helps with time management, wish the beep was slightly louder
I am AuDHD and really been needing a good visual timer as I have major problems with time management. I’ve also heard a lot about the Pomodoro method, and this is always the product I see recommended to use as “the” visual timer. The build quality of this timer is really nice, it feels sturdy and the little protective sleeve even makes it a bit drop resistant, which is nice because I have a young kiddo at home. I didn’t realize the sleeve was a tire at first, but I like cars so it’s a welcome oversight. It’s a good size, big enough to see with a quick glance, but still fits on my desk at work without taking up too much space.I love that it goes up to 60 minutes as I feel it’s a good range of time to do what I need to do. The timer works well and takes pretty much no thought to operate. You literally just turn the dial and watch it count down. There is no audible ticking noise (unless you literally put your ear up to the thing) which is a blessing because that would drive me crazy. The beep of the timer is a couple of short, quiet beeps. This is both a blessing, and a curse. When I’m in hyperfocus, this beep is not intense enough to pull me out of what I’m doing. If I’m wanting to use the timer to just jumpstart my hyperfocus on a task (which has proven quite effective and is the main way I use it), the quiet beep is a good thing because I can just continue working. But when I actually need the timer to force me to take a break, or pull away form a task, the tiny beeping is useless and I don’t even register it. I wish that there was a volume button to make the beeping just slightly louder. It has an on/off switch for the beeping, so turning off the could easily fulfil the first use (ignoring it to continue hyperfocus).Overall I’m really happy with this timer despite the slight caveat with the beep.
