Purchased for my husband after a stroke to use while he was working to regain mobility. The weight actually does help with the tremors. The oversized handles help with grip. The spoons were too oversized and he didnt care for them but the fork and knife were great.

Not for all Parkinson patients
We bought what we thought were five different sets from five different company so that we could compare them. They were basically the same manufactured set being sold under different names by different named companies. So when one set failed, they basically all failed and we returned all five sets. The client we purchased them for has Parkinson’s, but does not have external tremors. Their Parkinson’s manifest with balance issues and the ability to hold a utensil. Thickness of utensil is important as well as the weight. We found all the knives to be way too heavy. Repeatedly getting dropped. If someone has tremors where they clutch and hold on very tightly I can see where these utensils would be Useful. But if you’re dealing with somebody who is elderly And has difficulty holding or feeling the utensils in their hands. Too much weight is a bad thing. At least that’s what it’s been our experience. Oddly, we’ve had more success with vintage utensils and restaurant grade utensils. Some of the aid suggested putting rubber noodles around existing utensils. We are still trying to maintain a certain sense of normalcy. And so far the vintage heavy silverware with the puffy, but hollow handles have been working well.
