Great resource for helping anyone understand epilepsy
I loved that this book was written in a way that helps anyone understand what epilepsy is, how it impacts those who have epilepsy, AND really helps children understand that although someone who has epilepsy may move or talk differently than they do, everyone wants to have friends. I’m going to donate this copy to my local elementary school. If I remember correctly, nearly 1 in 6 people have epilepsy, so having a resource like this to help classmates understand their peers would be helpful. I love the illustrations too! Thank you, Hailey – for taking the time and effort to create this book.

Very easy way to educate on epilepsy
My child has epilepsy and this was a GREAT way to help explain it to our care givers, families, friends, and other kiddos. It gave a simple base understanding of a very complex disease that can be hard to explain to others. Recommend for EVERYONE to read.

Perfect for explaining to your children
A family member showed me the author’s IG account that drew me to this book. It was perfect timing because my oldest child was asking a lot of questions about seizures because a sibling and a family member suffers epilepsy. This book is a perfect way of explaining epilepsy and has been helpful in my child understanding that epilepsy isn’t a cookie cutter diagnosis and doctors are still learning about it. I also love that encourages inclusivity to anyone even if they seem different. Thank you, Hailey, for spreading awareness of a complex diagnosis so it doesn’t feel so isolating!

Excellent overview of epilepsy in easy to understand language!
I bought this book to help my 7 year old understand her younger sister’s epilepsy. The descriptions and metaphors were accurate, approachable, and straightforward. My daughter asked me to read it three times in a row and loved that there was even a page that included the different brain malformations that can lead to epilepsy. It was a breath of fresh air to read about my daughter’s diagnosis (lissencephaly) in a children’s book. We bought one to gift to another epilepsy family and then ordered several more to gift to therapists and doctors. Highly recommend!

Great book
This book is a simplified book on explaining epilepsy. It is great to teach children (and adults) what epilepsy is and how it affects different people. It explains some causes of epilepsy and some different ways it is treated. I highly recommend this book!

Helpful Explanations
My daughter was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. This is new territory for our family, so we are trying to learn as much as possible about epilepsy. This book helped me explain it to her three older brothers in kid-friendly language they could understand. The illustrations are great too!
