Customers say
Customers find these wheelchair tires fit perfectly, particularly for 9-spoke wheels, and appreciate their solid construction and functionality that makes them feel like new. They consider them worth the price and serve as great replacements. Installation experiences are mixed, with some finding them easy to install while others say they’re tough to put on. Durability and zip ties receive mixed feedback – while some find them durable, others report the zip ties breaking, and while the zip ties help, some mention they don’t hold well.

Exactly what I needed.
The fit was perfect, great quality and it definitely helped the functionality It is a bit difficult to get on, but you want that snug fit so that it will work properly. My mother was very appreciative to have her wheelchair working again. Thank you for your thorough description of the product.

Hard to install, but worth the effort.
These are an exact fit with lots of effort to put them on. I tried installing these straight out of the box. Forget it. It is almost impossible to put these tires on if you don’t boil them first. Put them in a pot, weight them down, and remove them after about 10 minutes. They will be hot, but they cool off fast enough that you can handle them and stay hot enough they can stretch over the wheels. My hands have gotten weaker over the years, so it was hard to get the tires to seat. I took a rubber mallet and beat them into submission 🙂 until they seated. That was easier than manipulating them by hand. I just hit the edge of the tire until it popped into place. These are definitely worth the price and effort.

A bit challenging to install- as expected. A flat prybar from the tool box helps ease the job
Fit perfectly.

Good fit + hard to install
Good fit but difficult to install. The tire has to be stretched about 4 inches. I did it by using 3 sticks and 3 cords using the stick-twist method. 1″x1″x16″ sticks. Two 2′ cords and one 3′ cord. Lay the folded wheelchair on its side. Put the first tire over the wheel so the tire is laying on the wheelchair. After raising one side of the tire up, install it on the rim as far as it goes, held with the zips. Start first with the short cords where the stretching needs to begin. The long cord goes at the apex of the stretch. The cords go through the tire and around the hoop of the rim. Begin twisting the boards in the short cords then move to the apex. To cycle through twisting the boards, put the bottom end of the board through the spokes of the bottom wheel. You will have to use the pry tool. I used channel locks for the last little twist of the tire.

they work
They do what they are supposed to. Letting them sit for a day to flatten out helped. I used a heat gun on low to warm them before stretching them over the rims. The tire iron they come with is a good tool that I’m sure I’ll use again.

Perfect fit.
These were a perfect fit for my mother in law’s Carex wheelchair. The wheels measure 23.25 inches and with the tire installed 24 inch’s combined.Installation was easy. Unlike so many reviews I had no issues putting these tires on the wheel.I took the wheels off of the chair. I put the tires in my sink and then poured two big pots of boiling water over the tires. They were rolled up and weighted down to keep them submerged. I let them soak for 30 minutes. They were a tight fit but using the zip ties and installation tool provided it was not difficult at all. I got the tire started in the groove and put one zip tie on tight and then just started massaging the tire into the wheel groove a few inches at a time using my left hand while following up with my right hand tightly holding the tire in place. About half way around I put on a second tie. I kept massaging the tire around until I could no longer get the tire over the rim by hand and then started using the installation tool about every four to six inches pulling the tire up and over the rim and then holding it in place tightly with my right hand. About two thirds the way through I put on a third tie. After that it just took a few more times of prying the tire over the rim and keeping it in place with my right hand and it was on.The first one took maybe five minutes at the longest due to the learning curve and only two minutes for the second one. I used three zip ties per wheel.I doubt that I’ll ever need to replace these tires but if I ever do I wouldn’t hesitate to buy these again.

No instructions
1. When I ordered this item. I thought that the company would include directions on HOW TO INSTALL THESE TIRES.2. NO INSTRUCTIONS WERE PROVIDED. If tired to install these by my self I would have returned them.3. My nephew and great nephew did finally get the job done with a little help from the internet.4. Who would have known that you needed to boil each tire for 15 minutes and than install. That is opposite of ease of assembly.
