Perfect for seniors with lots of pills
Great size for lots of pills. Timer works & if person isn’t around red light keeps going off until dish empties. Love it

A couple small hiccups but good overall
This smart pill dispenser is perfect for seniors, especially those with dementia or memory problems. It’s also a great option for people dealing with addiction, as it uses a fingerprint reader to limit access to meds. Plus, it’s a nice safety feature for families with young children to keep them from getting into the medication(s).It helps track medication use over time, but requires a free smartphone app called Pillfinder (available for both Android and Apple) that keeps everything on track. The only catch is that the app requires a smartphone and Bluetooth (4.0 and up), so the medication-user might need a bit of help from a caregiver or family member to set things up. After that, though, it should be easy to use, though some might still find it a bit tricky. The fingerprint reader adds a nice layer of security, but it can sometimes be finicky if your fingers are dirty or wet (or if you’re like me and just can’t get fingerprint scanners to work, no matter what). Luckily, there are spare keys as a backup. The app also lets caregivers keep an eye on how the user is doing with their meds, which gives peace of mind and security as well as improving the chances that the medication user follows their medication regimen. One feature I really like is the customizable voice reminders, where family members can leave personal messages instead of just the usual alarm (3 alarm sounds come pre-set). This makes it much harder to ignore or miss. The carousel features 31 medication slots, allowing for a great deal of medication to be put inside and clearing up pill bottle clutter. An added bonus is that this device is FDA-cleared and rigorously tested, which makes me feel better about relying on it to ensure that essential medications aren’t being skipped. We’ve had a few technical difficulties, but nothing major. The main one was the issue of one or more pills getting stuck and not releasing into the tray (not a regular problem, but something that happened once or twice). It makes me concerned about knowing if the full amount of medication has been taken if I’m not around to see it. It’s really not a major problem, and I think it only happens because there are some oddly shaped pills that could get caught up on each other more easily than standard circular or even oval medications. This dispenser was a little frustrating to deal with at first after it was all set up. It got jammed a couple of times on a pill that got stuck on the way into the tray and once or twice it advanced but didn’t release the pills. Hopefully the issues were just a glitch that won’t come back because I don’t want my elderly mom to have to deal with being frustrated with this dispenser and/or refusing to use it because it’s “too complicated”, even if I am her caregiver and will be available 24/7 to help. The biggest downside to me, other than the requisite smartphone and some tech knowledge, is the unit’s size. It’s not the smallest thing and while it eliminates the mess and hassle of having to deal with a whole slew of medication bottles, it may very well take up more space than the bottles did.

Good design goal but mediocre execution
I like how this aims to simplify the life of the people who have to take multiple pills at different frequencies. This complexity makes it very difficult, especially the elderly to know what pills to take and not to take each day. However, the way to set it up is much less straightforward than I hope for, especially for the elderly who do not use smartphones often. I find that the pills can get stuck too. The bluetooth connection often gives me troubles too. Overall, I really don’t think the high MSRP is justified although the design goal is very appealing.

Doesn’t work consistently
The door to drop medicine into the bin does not open consistently. This looks great but actual function is flawed. So glad I tested it before leaving it with my elderly parents. They would never be able to deal with the malfunction. Im returning since it just doesn’t work consistently

Useful device especially for Elderly
Overall, when you get the device set up with your phone through the app, it will work well. There can be issues with your phones Bluetooth that can interfere with the signal and occasionally any app can suffer from issues. The size is decent, but make sure your phone supports the app before purchasing! Older devices may not be able to download it. It also seems to be reliably built.

Very disappointed
The pill dispenser worked great at first. But now I have to set up a separate pill box for a backup because the dispenser doesn’t always drop all of the pills. It has also jammed up a few times, with pills getting stuck. Unfortunately, since we can not rely on it to dispense the medication properly, it has become more of a hassle than a help for my elderly mother-in-law. It’s a lot of money to spend on a device that doesn’t work.

Setup a but complicated
Concept is great. Set up a schedule as needed for needs and done. Setup will definitely need someone a but tech savvy to set up.Not recommended for someone with memory impairment as it requires the plastic tray to be put back. Solid and, once set up, easy to use.Has 30 compartments and like the clearview to allow to see how many slots are left.
