You need this in your life.
I am a seamstress/sewist by trade. So I can tell you when they say “weighted,” they’re not kidding. This blanket has no weights in it because they’re not necessary to make it nice and heavy. Cotton itself weighs a ton. So when you’re using that to make the thing, it’s going to weigh a ton. I woiuld put it up against any other weighted blanket.The nice thing is that it is cotton, so it’s a natural fiber. I’m trying to stick more to those these days rather than plastic (polyesters).A word of warning: the information card that comes with the blanket mentions this, but I think it bears repeating. DO NOT WASH AND DRY THIS ON A HIGH TEMPERATURE. It is 100% and it will shrink. Wash cold, tumble dry medium or low or better yet, hang to dry. Unless for some reason you want it to shrink, avoid washing/drying hot.I love the open chain “knit” of this blanket. It’s heavy but it doesn’t have to be hot. That open weave keeps you from overheating while the weight of the blanket keeps you warm. Cotton is a great fiber for moderating temperature. It’s a very sturdy fiber.It comes in a nice dust bag and doesn’t have a bad smell. It smells like something manufactured in a textile mill, not unpleasant at all – more like a “new blanket” smell.So I would highly recommend this. It also looks really pretty on the sofa.

Beautiful cotton blanket
This is a VERY well made blanket. It absolutely has weight to it. It’s a little more breathable than I would like, which doesn’t lead to it being a blanket for warmth. The loops are too big, for me, to just use it as a stand alone blanket. My toes come through easily. I love that it’s cotton. When i put it over a thinner blanket, it makes a wonderful weighted blanket. I washed it when i first got it, hung it to dry, then low tumble dried for 20 minutes. It didn’t lose any length or integrity when i did this. I think the value for the money is all in what you’re looking to get out of this blanket. But as a stand alone, I personally would opt for one with smaller loops. It is soft and comfortable.

Beautiful Knit
This is really a cute style of blanket. They use what is in appearance to be a weighted type fabric that has been cut into strips and rolled and that becomes the yarn that is knit into the blanket. So it is thick and the touch of the blanket isn’t that soft but it is not scratchy. I took a picture of the tag to show that the entire blanket weighs 7 lb. So it is not extremely heavy but it does give some weight distributed on you. I wanted you to be aware that it is not 7 lb in any one single spot. It is very well done as far as the knit and how it’s finished. As far as the appearance of the product that you receive, they place it into a beautiful fabric dust covered bag that zipper shut. This makes it very nice to store between Seasons when you’re not using it. It also makes a beautiful gift the way it is packaged so I wouldn’t hesitate to give one of these for Christmas! So whether you are looking for yourself or for someone else, I definitely would recommend this for purchase.
