A Game Changer for Home Water Leak Prevention – Excellent Setup and Performance!
I recently swapped out my old Guardian water leak detection system with the YoLink Smart Water Valve Controller, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. The installation process was a breeze—it took me about 30 minutes to get the valve controller set up, and setting up the 16 leak detectors around the house took a bit more time, but overall, it was a straightforward DIY project. The system was incredibly easy to install, and I didn’t need any professional plumbing help, which was a huge plus.What really stood out to me was how much better this YoLink system is compared to my previous Guardian system. The Guardian system was constantly failing, poorly designed, and a major headache. Not to mention, it cost a fortune—each controller was $50, and it was always causing issues. In contrast, the YoLink system is night and day! The setup process is simple, user-friendly, and intuitive, and I didn’t need to rely on complicated instruction videos. Since I’m familiar with this type of system from previous experience, I was able to easily configure everything, including the automation tab in the app to trigger the valve to close when a leak is detected.The wireless range is fantastic and very reliable, even across multiple walls in my home, which ensures that I get real-time alerts no matter where I am. The hub is on one side of the house and the valve/controller is on the other and they communicate over the mesh WiFi 6 network without issues. The system updates and configures quickly, which is a huge bonus when I need to adjust anything.The only tricky part of the setup for me was figuring out how to trigger the valve to close when a leak is detected, but once I played around with the automation settings in the app, it was smooth sailing from there. It does need a separate event for each leak detector added to the Automation to trigger the event but there seems to be great developers working for YoLink and they added a Replicate option making this a breeze!!! Great job!!!Overall, I’m beyond satisfied with this YoLink Smart Water Valve Controller system. It’s everything the Guardian system should have been—easy to set up, reliable, and cost-effective. If you’re in the market for a smart water leak detection system, I highly recommend this one! It’s definitely A++++ in my book!

Yes – It’s worth it
After many hours of research, decided to go with the YoLink product line. Purchased the hub, water sensors, couple of the outlet controls, motion sensor, and a door sensor (which by the way works fantastic for the garage door eliminating the question 5 minutes after leaving home, did we close the garage door?) Anyway, the water valve while a little pricey was a great addition. Took 10 minutes to install on my water main, no plumber needed. Have linked the value to the sensors, tested by pouring some water under a sensor and as designed the main shut itself off. Also like that I can manually turn the water valve on or off from my phone and on the device itself, there’s a release button and handle to override the system if needed. The Yolink app is easy to use, controls everything on the system with a lot of different options. Sends alerts to your email or via text message. The best part, the app is FREE, no subscription costs. Adding equipment is a breeze, just scan the QR code on the device and it connects wireless to the hub.

Great For Peace of Mind
EVO valve was very easy to install and program. The instructions were very detailed. The app is intuitive. I have programmed the D2D function with a sump level indicator and some water leak detectors. Had an actual sump pump failure during a iron filter backwash and the valve closed immediately as advertised preventing flooding. Needed to replace a defective sensor and needed support for some advanced setup and the US based manufacturer responded quickly to resolve. Highly recommended.

Effective and well designed
I’ve been using YoLink’s leak sensors for a few years with just the app on my phone and decided to take this to the next level with their robotic valve actuator. This is a nicely designed product and of good quality that does what’s it’s intended to.Our water line from the city is 1-1/4″ with same size ball valves above and below the water meter. I installed this on the upper valve only because the lower, though does work, is extremely stiff to operate. The torque this produces is impressive and it closes the upper valve with no issues but I didn’t try in on the lower valve. The valves do get closed periodically but they are 25 years old.I performed a test at our utility sink in our basement to see how long it would take to shut off the water and how much water would spill before the valve closed. We have 75 psig water pressure which provides for excellent flow and with the cold faucet fully open at the tubs the flow is in the 7 ~ 8 gpm range. I placed the sensor in a 5 gallon bucket, turned the cold water on full and timed how long it took for the water to stop. Full stop in 20 seconds with about 2.5 gallons in the bucket which is better than I expected. Obviously this was a hypothetical situation and a potential leak could flow more or less depending on where and type but I was most interested in the reaction time to shut off all water to the house.A great product that in my opinion makes more sense than the complexities associated with the more expensive valve replacement solutions from companies such as Moen. If you’re looking for simple straightforward water damage protection from plumbing leaks this is a great option.
