Raised letters learn braille great!
This is adorable wood raised letters, so children can learn braille. Fits in the palm of an adult hand to hold on one side, each letter and the braille for the letter.

helpful
This chart is helpful to learn braille and to be able to read it more in other places. It is a good size so easy to store and get out when needed.

Tactile aid for Braille learners.
Good idea to have a wood board with raised dots to help Braille learners. Ideally the dots would be arranged in rows of 10, so learners could memorize the pattern: The first 10 letters (A-J) use the top 4 spaces, the next 10 letters (K-T) add dot #3, and the last few letters (U-Z) add dot #6, with an exception for W, which was not used much by the French-speaking inventor, Louie Braille. Same problems with numbers. To show the first 10 patterns are the same as letters A-J, the sequence should be 1-9, then 0. BUT something is better than nothing, so this wood board can be useful.

Helps seeing people
I got this more for the aide than for the student who can’t see. She’s learning the Braille alphabet and numbers, so her aide also needs to know. These are sturdy, made of wood, but they’re not toys. There’s literally nothing that can be done with them except memorize the Braille alphabet and numbers. They’re smaller than I thought, for the price. They’re not even the size of a sheet of paper. But the aide said they’re helping her so she can better help her student, so that’s what really matters.

Rough wood texture
Great idea, poor execution. The wood used for this plank is rough and unfinished. This harsh texture makes it difficult and unpleasant to locate the braille dots.

Help with Braillle
Works well for the sided to learn braille not very good for someone used to using braille the dots are not raised enough

Brilliant design, but unusable because the wood is of such poor quality that I can barely find the braille dots lost in all of the tactile “noise” of a wood base that is warped, deeply-grooved, and in some places, even cracked. Also, the “braille dots” are of uneven heights. I plan to try and salvage this by using puffy pens (“popcorn” pens) on each braille dot to raise the relief. And/or maybe I’lI try using some wood putty to fill in the grooves. I hope other purchasers have better luck… :/

Purchased product for my mother. She loves how she can easily carry it around with her.

Poor design. Why put dots and letters on the rough side of the board?! Too difficult to use for someone with low vision! Would not recommend this item.
