    Satisfied Customer
This pulse oximeter really has it all. From the moment you open the box it is clear that this product was designed with the user in mind. When you take it out of its packaging, it is already in a nice protective silicone case to protect the item. There is a plastic tab in place to prevent the batteries from draining which you will need to remove on the bottom part of the device where the batteries are located. Once you remove the tab, this piece of equipment works flawlessly. And again, every detail feels like it was crafted with the user in mind. For medical providers’ convenience, the button on top can be used to rotate the orientation/display of the values on the screen so you can easily read it while being on either side or in front of a patient, there’s even an orientation so you can display the values to the patient themselves, all in all there are 6 different display modes. I am in my final year of medical school, but I have no doubt that this device is going to serve me very well during the remainder of my medical training and probably for several years after. Oh and for older/frail patients, the spring is very gentle and doesn’t squeeze hard on the finger like some other devices, the material inside is a soft rubber so it is non-abrasive but holds grip on the skin to keep the oximeter in place on the fingertip. My the only criticism is that the device has a somewhat tall profile, similar to others I’ve seen in the hospital, but it would be nice to see a pulse oximeter that would be able to fit more comfortable in a pocket without being so bulky. Let me know if you have any questions about this product

    ACCURATE AND VERY HELPFUL!
This is the best pulseox meter I’ve ever owned. I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation and an uncontrolled heart rate 7 years ago. The ER couldn’t regulate it, and said if I didn’t let them admit me to the CCU right away for treatment (invasive) and observation, that I wouldn’t last the night. Well, I decided to trust myself to the Lord, bought myself an Acc U Rate fingertip pulseoximeter the next day, and soon realized that my AFib was triggered by the use of certain medications, especially those for my heart! I bought a second meter from another company as a backup and to compare results. The other monitor was terrible, inaccurate, worked-didn’t work, etc. so I went back to the CMS Acc U Rate meter, and within a few months I was back in the pink. Though it still lets me know when something’s irritating my heart, I feel like I have some control over what happens to me (hospital, no hospital, etc.). When my roommate was diagnosed with an “irregular” heart beat a few months ago, she had to have an EKG and the doctor recommended and ECHOCARDIOGRAM. Needless to say, she was freaked out. To help her monitor the situation, I purchased her a new Acc U Rate CMS 500D Generation 2 finger pulseoximeter so she could check her heart rate and oxy sat. when she felt nervous. By using it correctly, she has been able to detect and adjust the things in her life that were causing her pulse and heart rhythm irregularities (coffee intake, cutting back on pain producing activities, doing deep breathing and relaxation methods, etc.) With the use of it, she’s managed to get her heart rate and rythem under control, cut out some expensive test costs, amazed her doctor, and feels good that she has an accurate device to help her understand what’s going on with heart. She’a much happier and calmer now. Of course, not everyone has the same types of heart problems and should use meters carefully, and only as assistive devices only. Since my original meter is older, I’m going to reorder another new Acc U Rate CMS 500D Generation 2 finger meter today. I only wish CMS still provided a hardshell belt loop CARRYING CASE with each purchase! I gave mind to my roommate to use with her new meter and she won’t give it back! Thanks for the accuracy of your machines, CMS (please reconsider the case!)

    Super Efficient
I’ve had this for over 5 years now, and it still works perfectly fine. Its screen can rotate, depending on what position you’re using it from. The batteries are easily replaceable. Very good buy.

A solid product for the price.
I purchased this pulse oximeter for my personal backup BLS bag. As a member of a college campus EMS BLS unit we use this same oximeter for all of our calls to gather patient information. This is a good little unit with a lot of features including a Plethysmograph, O2 sat reading output, and Pulse display. I can attest to the accuracy of this product as the readings are generally +/- 1 (percent and or bpm) off of the LifePak 20’s that the responding ALS service uses. Included in the packaging is:1 x Acc U Rate CMS 500D Monitor1 x Silicon Protective Case1 x Lanyard1 x Instruction ManualSet up is super user friendly, just place the monitor on your finder and press the button for less than .5 seconds. The screen will light up and it begins to monitor in 3-5 seconds. This unit has an auto off feature where it will automatically shutoff when you remove your finger after 12 seconds. I have tried very hard to find something that would be a drawback of this device and the only thing I can find is the battery life. The batteries that ship with the unit are generic batteries and life is minimal, especially if you are triaging multiple patients. However a good set of Duracell AAA’s (x2) and you are good to go!Overall, I would not recommend this unit if you are physician or are betting your life on it, but for around $20.00 its a bargain for a quick check of vitals, especially if an ALS service is en route. At the end of the day, if someone’s O2 sat is at 80-94% you’re going to put them on oxygen and get them to stable medical assistance ASAP. This device is accurate enough for that range of error. Given its features, size and relatively good features, 4/5 stars.

I must say up front that I am not using this monitor for what it is recommended for. I have a medical condition where I need to check my pulse rate on a regular basis. I have being doing this by simply counting my pulse while watching a clock It is straight forward and accurate but with getting older I can sometimes make a mistake with the count and have to start over again . Someone suggested to try one of these type of monitors because it would give me a accurate pulse rate with no effort on my part. When I first started using it I did both counted my pulse the old way and then used the monitor and then comparing the results. I found that the result were always the same so I now just use the monitor. I have found it easy to use also the instructions easy to follow. So if you do need one of these monitors then this one is a good buy.

The oximeter looks like a good quality product. It works fine as far as I can say. Is it accurate? I have no way to check it, but the readings seem reasonable. The display is too small for all the data the meter provides, and as a result, the PI ratio reading is difficult to see.I have to use magnifying glass, even my reading glasses are not strong enough to see it properly. I would happily pay a few more dollars for larger display. The meter shows my irregular heart beat, and that was a second reason I bought this particular model. But I should have bought a meter with bluetooth, so I could record the waves on my PC and show it to my cardiologist.
